D-Block & S-Te-Fan vs. Coone – Creation Of Life (Reverze Anthem 2009) Review
D-Block & S-Te-Fan have teamed up with the master of jump, DJ Coone to make the Reverze anthem. These guys have delivered a decent one-sided vinyl which suits well as an anthem for the Belgian hard dance event. Maybe this year’s anthem is not as good as the Noisecontrollers remix of the previous anthem “Gods & Symbols” which was awesome and probably one of the best anthems in 2008. Though Creation Of Life is miles away from being bad.
You can’t really call this track refreshing or innovative. It’s a generic nu-style track with an uplifting melody, a break and it contains all other typical “nu” ingredients.
Though, in some way, this track still makes you want to move, jump and scream. It has something that attracts you and that is what makes this anthem good. Maybe it’s the reverse bass in the climax and intro. Maybe it’s the break that makes you excited or maybe it’s just the melody that’s good. Who knows. Now i’m simply just going to guide you through the stages of this track.
The track kicks off with a pretty typical intro – a flat kick combined with some sounds and screeches. You instantly start thinking “oh, here we go again, now let’s just stand still and wait for the climax, no need to dance now to this boring shit”.
But hold yer horses, after about 30 seconds the flat kick is replaced by a neat bassline and you instantly want to dance. This really shows how much some sweet reverse bass can contribute to a track and make boring bits interesting. Dutch hardstyle producers these days really don’t seem to understand the importance to have a banging intro and they just don’t seem to give a damn if the intro is good or not – it’s the break and climax that counts – fuck the rest. This is why most (dutch) nu-style tracks are rather boring since most of them have shitty intros that are completely uninteresting, and this also makes the climax less interesting since the intro was boring and you have already lost your “WOW feeling”
Back to the track. After the good intro ,the break starts, which is another important ingredient in a hardstyle track. This is were it’s going to be decided if you are going to gather all your energy and go wild when the climax starts, or if you are simply just going to stand still if the break doesn’t catch your attention. Creation Of Life succeeds with this part and the break is neither too long or too short. The REEEVEERZE vocals are good and the melody and synth that follows are also interesting even if they are not mindblowing.
D-Block & S-Te-Fan and Coone also chose to have a banging bassline in the climax which makes the climax really good and pumping with alot of drive. Amen for that! The second climax is even better than the first one and it keeps you dancing like a madman until the outro starts.
To sum everything up: This is the best anthem of the year so far (I don’t even remember if there have been any more anthems this year) which makes you want to move your feet and dance like a maniac on the night of the event. It was probably a bomb on Reverze and I hope that this track won’t be forgotten. The melody, but also the sounds in the intro, could have been a bit more exciting , but they are far from bad and they won’t make you lose interest in the track. It would also have been a better release if they had made a b-side with a different mix or a jump version of the track.

Nice review.
I totally agree and I'm so proud to be from Belgium if I look at Reverze =p .
Decided to edit the rating after some more thinking.
I agree with the review.
Though it would be nice if there's going to be a remix.
Imo the track is very boring and is one of worse that d-block and s te fan have produced,……The track seems dull and empty,………it needs something,…..
That's Coone for ya
