CD1 is the usual mix of hands-up, commercial/popular hardstyle and Rocco & Bass-T’s personal favourites. Some depressing tracks like Just Say My Name, some highlights like People Won’t Like This and Tuned In.
CD2 deserves a closer look. Actually, it deserves to be scrutinized track by track. If we do so, what do we find? Our Core, Relax and Guardian Angel already make this cd the most exciting once since the invention of CDs. They’re followed by a new, so far unplayed Williams Syndrome track. Another load of Superplastik stuff at which we have already taken a look passes by, accompanied by an as of yet unreleased Noisecontrollers track. Finally, we get to hear the very best of new hardstyle in HQ. The CD is now at the point where its value beats that of all the gold in Fort Knox. One of Wildstylez new masterpieces joins Killer Clown’s unique Silentium in an effort to make the disc even more outstanding… when something extremely unsettling happens.
A New Day. That shameless ripoff of Shreek? On a CD mixed by the Noisecontrollers themselves? This means a lot of things. It means NC have given Headhunterz permission to steal the intro of Shreek, mess it up badly, and use it in his ‘own’ release. Why? It also means the CD, which has an otherwise flawless, 100/100 tracklist, gets cut in half by a track that just does not live up to the high standard.
You do not really require my quidance through the rest of the tracklist to tell you how great it is. Razr, Animated Audio, and if we’re lucky the NC remix of Thugs – it never stops. Even though I have some strong doubts about A New Day, let’s just call it a little mistake and move on. Still, I am extremely curious as to why it was included – Bas, Arjan, Luc, do you happen to be reading along?
Whatever the reason is, this CD is something to long for. 9 more days…

“13:04:12 OH MAN DAS IST SOOOOO GUT ! “
It's like negativity rules against Headhunterz :')
SIMPLICITY RULES SIMPLICITY RULES
Well, yeah, Grape, I do suppose you are right. It's just that A New Day being on a mixcd by NC means a lot of things that are plain wrong are actually true. And I think A New Day is easily HHz' worst track ever, I'm not your average Scantraxx basher but this one track just happens to be completely awful.
I could understand your reaction if it was Just Say My Name they included in the mix ; )
I totally disagree with you. Yeah maybe there is a resemblance between the two intros and maybe it isn't a track like tormented. And yea maybe hhz is getting a bit cocky but you can't say this is a horrible track. Because musical wise it's a good track and that nc plays this track doesnt mean anything.
I also think this review isn't objective enough.
Sorry but I'll have to defend myself a little again… We are not talking about resemblance here. The intros sound so ridiculously alike it could have been a bad remix. And if Headhunterz created those sounds by accident… well, too bad, he should not have used them.
Music wise, A New Day is not good at all. Like at least 90% of hardstyle. It just happens that SPK/NC stuff has more musical qualities than most hardstyle, making A New Day detone badly, with its unbalanced, overly happy, uninspiring melody.
As for being objective – you may be right. I openly admit I am a huge SPK fanboy, and I dislike Headhunterz somewhat for his cockyness when he keeps producing ever worse tracks. I'll also be the first to admit that I like The Fear of Darkness though. Way better melody, got its own intro, and so on. Not my favourite song, but it's good.
Oh – and NC playing it does mean a lot, I explained that perfectly well in the article.
Let me end by saying that this is a preview, not a review, as the CD will only be out on the 13th of February. So we shall wait and see…
man.. you really should check some sources and/or stop making such wild acucsations .. a new is co-produced bij the noisecontrollers..anyone with just a small amount of intellect and knowledge of hardstyle van figure that out
WACK REVIEW..
ban slotje sterf
Do you really think A New Day is THAT bad? I agree its not good, but fortunately you can just skip that ONE bad track
Thanks for the info, really looking forward to this!
I really love headhunterz, but his last release “A new day” is just … so bad …
If i was headhunterz, the author of awesome songs that makes listener dance on their chair, i think i'll ask Scantraxx to remove “A new day” from my realeses. Producing “A new day” was his bigest mistake … after “the last of mohicanz”. But i didn't understand why It's the 16th song in the TOP 40 February of FearFm :/
However “The fear of darkness” as ending of the track is just … very nice ^^ I love that song
