Defqon 1 2009: New tracks and backstage videos
This years Defqon brought a whole lot of new tracks, among them a very experimental Technoboy remix of Rock Civilization and an unexpectingly old school sounding Prophet and Headhunterz track. Like last year, the big labels and artists also recorded some nice backstage footage from the sunny dunes of Almere strand.
Technoboys Rock Civilization remix was probably one of the biggest surprises for a long time in the endless world of hardstyle, and many people were astonished when they heard it on the q-dance live-broadcast. It can be described as something very special and innovating, but alot of people seem to be very sceptic about this new lento violento sounding hardstyle and you ask yourself if this really is the beginning of a new experimentation era as stated by Headhunterz himself.

The other surprise is a track called “The summer of hardstyle” which was played by almost all Scantraxx artists during the event.
This screechy track by Proppy & Heady (presumeably The Prophet and Headhunterz) is filled with reverse bass and other old school ingredients, and blows over the hardstyle scene as a fresh summer breeze on a june evening.
Finally we get to hear something completely new from these guys, so be sure to check out this awesome track!
The next track is also something pretty unexpected.
D-Block & S-Te-Fan have teamed up with High Voltage to make an almost hardcore sounding track which is very different from their usual sound. “Shiverz” (yes, with a z) will be on their new album which is probably going to be released during the end of this year.

Last but not least in the pile of new tracks, a new production from the good old Frontliner called “The First Cut”.
A very energetic, cool and hard track which sounds very promising. Expect this to be released on Scantraxx some time during the next ten years.

Ahh can't wait till the next defqon in Europe, this year i couldn't go. because i was away that weekend

Headhunterz as usual showed us he's the best. Nice final for this awesome event with Scrap attack !!
